Join the Emerald Coast Association of Realtors (ECAR) at the Destin Harbor to honor wounded veterans at our third annual Soldiers on the Water event Saturday, September 19th.
More than 125 wounded Soldiers, Airmen, Sailors, Marines and Guardsmen will be treated to an all-day fishing and feasting experience. The event will include a fishing tournament, featuring awards for ‘biggest catch’, ‘most catches’, and ‘smallest catch-of-the-day’. Sign-in will begin at 7:00 a.m. at the Destin Harbor behind Brotula’s Seafood House and Steamer (formerly Fisherman’s Wharf) and then the veterans will set off for a world-class fishing experience at 8:00 a.m.
Upon return the soldiers will continue the festivities with a fish fry dinner and music on the picturesque deck at Brotula’s. Members of the press are invited to join us beginning at 2 p.m. as the boats begin returning and our veterans show off their catches.
“We all owe a big debt of gratitude to the brave men and women of the Armed Forces, and I am elated that we can give a little back. Soldiers on the Water is our way of saying ‘Thank You’ to our Military Heroes with a day of food and fun on the Gulf” remarked ECAR President Sam Kinkaid.
All food, equipment and licensing for Soldiers on the Water will be provided by ECAR and our event sponsors.
