Finally you can give some “lip” and feel good about it!

Emerald Coast Theatre Company (ECTC) is hosting the first ever Emerald Coast Lip Sync Battle on Thursday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort in Sandestin, Florida.

This inaugural event promises an evening of music, dance and fun and offers the perfect opportunity for local stars to enjoy their “15 minutes of fame” in the spotlight performing live the songs they’ve been practicing in front of their bathroom mirrors for years.

“Read my lips, this is going to be awesome!” says ECTC producing artistic director Nathanael Fisher. “Everyone loves a moment on stage and ECTC is happy to provide the perfect opportunity. This event is a first for the Emerald Coast and is sure to bring out the star in all of us.”

Solo, duo and trio teams are invited to compete for the Lip Sync crown. Friendly competitors are encouraged to challenge others via social media, and a panel of judges will pick the best of the best.

Judging will be conducted by a panel of judges and will be based on Originality and creativity; Audience interaction and support; Costume choice and appearance and Full-out dedication to performance.

The top three contestants will perform a final battle for the title, and each will be assigned a different song from a list of songs that will be provided to the contestants upon registration. The song choice will be given on the spot during the final round of the battle.

Prizes will awarded for Best Costume, Best Dance Move, Best Solo, Best Duet, Best Trio and Overall Lip Sync Battle Winner 2015

The night will be complete with food and drink, and those performers who bring the biggest crew will rack up audience participation points. Can’t sing? No problem! It’s just lip sync and all in fun. Those who are challenged and don’t care to accept can “buy” their way off the stage with a donation to ECTC’s educational and theatrical programming fund.

Find the official guidelines, pay fees and select songs online at www.emeraldcoasttheatre.org. The event is open to those 21 years of age. Performer registration deadline is Oct. 15, 2015 at 12 p.m.

Registration Fees are as follows: $40 solo performance; $50 duet performance; $75 trio performance and $100 donation for Unaccepted Battle Challenge.

Registration fee must be paid to ECTC before song choice can be submitted. Song choices are based on a first-come, first-served basis and should be emailed to Laura Holloway atlaura@storytelleragency.com.

Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

Get tickets and/or register to participate online!
