Its really sad that people do this kinda crap...probably stealing for money to buy drugs that rot your teeth and destroy lives. The fairgrounds were only able to put the roof on that building because of grant money otherwise it would still be leaking. The fair is one of the few activities that our kids look forward to every year as a place to go have fun and show off their livestock and the abundance of their agricultural experiences.

DeFuniak Springs Police responded to the Walton County Fairgrounds on Thursday morning in reference to a burglary. Sometime during the night, unknown persons entered the building and removed approximately $2,900 in construction related tools. The building doors were reportedly secured, however, the building is being re-roofed and numerous openings can be accessed, including a busted window opening

We would love to have you Teresa, the fair this year is from October 5-10. Misty is right, it is sad that someone would steal tools that someone is using to make a living for themselves and their families. But this did not stop the work that is going into preparing for the fair as a group of citizens stepped up and loaned the construction workers tools to use today. It is truly great to live in a community where people will step up to help each other with nothing to gain for themselves.
