Good point Poppy.

Furthermore ACORN has ties with both candidates. McCain has supported them and has spoken at their events. The ACORN issue is that independant workers (poor people) hired by ACORN, submitted names to fill a quota in order to get paid. These names included the following "people"... Pizza Hut, Jimmie Johns, Wal Greens etc. Mr Hut, Mr Johns and Mr Greens will never show up to vote as they don't exist. So they aren't illegal votes and neither Obama nor McCain had anything to do with it.

Exactly, ACORN was duped, they paid good money to some lazy S.O.B.'s for work they did not do and those names are being purged. And yes, John McCain praised them at one of their events but there is no guilt by association her either.

Acorn pushes back, hugs McCain
by Ben Smith http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/1008/Acorn_pushes_back_hugs_McCain.html?showall
The beleaguered Democratic-leaning community group Acorn sends over this photograph: John McCain, in March of 2006, sitting beside Florida Rep. Kendrick Meek at an event Acorn co-sponsored in Florida.
The immigration event, which other photos show was packed with red-shirted Acorn member, was co-sponsored by the local Catholic Archdiocese, the SEIU, and other groups.
McCain, still spiting much of his party on immigration at the time, was the headliner.
Bertha Lewis, Acorn's chief organizer, said in a statement that came with the photo, ?It has deeply saddened us to see Senator McCain abandon his historic support for ACORN and our efforts to support the goals of low-income Americans."
?We are sure that the extremists he is trying to get into a froth will be even more excited to learn that John McCain stood shoulder to shoulder with ACORN, at an ACORN co-sponsored event, to promote immigration reform," she said.

I have no doubt that some ultra-right neo-Nazis will vote for John McCain but that does not define Mr. McCain's character or ability as President. What is important is the abilities of the two candidates and the probability that they will surround themselves with intelligent people who can lead us out of this mess.
