If title to my beach property is transferred from my name to an LLC with multiple shareholders, does this change the landscape for homeowners insurance? I would appreicate comments from those who have experience in this area.
It does chance your insurance. It will be harder to get and more expensive. But it's possible to do. I think we pay a $10 surcharge for each shareholder -- which isn't a big deal. But we had a harder time getting someone to cover us in the beginning. We've bought our house as an LLC about 2.5 years ago.
