The Bayou Arts Center is excited to host Kids' Hand-Building Ceramics classes Friday evenings Sept. 6th thru Oct. 4 from 4PM - 5:30PM . All levels are welcome. Discover the soothing effects of clay first-hand with experienced ceramic teachers. Classes are geared to the beginner, but offer expanded skills to the continuing student

In this five-week course for children ages 9 - 13, students will focus on the sculptural aspects of clay without the use of a potter's wheel. Students will learn a variety of techniques including coil, pinch, and slab building as well as glazing and alternative forms of surface decoration.

The Bayou Arts Center is located at 105 Hogtown Bayou Lane off County Road 393 North in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. The Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County (CAA) offers a dynamic collection of weekly workshops throughout the year. All classes are open to the public to reserve. Classes take place at the Bayou Arts Center on Hogtown Bayou Lane, a picturesque setting on the water among the marshes sure to inspire any artist, novice or experienced.

The year long class schedule includes, but is not limited to watercolor, pastel, drawing, photography, zentagle, ice dying, glass mosaics, portraits and figure drawing. Nationally renowned artists travel to South Walton specifically for the purpose of sharing their talent with our community by teaching classes. South Walton area artists teach classes weekly.
