It is officially King Cake Season. We will be selling our authentic King Cakes this year for 35.00 each (feeds appx 15 or 4 New Orleanians) Totally made from scratch & fresh. Because of this please give us 24 hour notice.

    NOLA Fun Facts:

Twelfth Night. Kings' Day. January 6.

Whatever you call it, the first day of Carnival is here. The countdown to Mardi Gras, and the parade of king cakes, have begun.

"Also known as Kings' Day or Twelfth Night, Jan. 6 celebrates the arrival of the three kings at Jesus' birthplace (12 days after Christmas) thus ending the Christmas season," said Becky Retz. "This festival of fun finds its roots in various pagan celebrations of spring, dating back 5,000 years."

In Louisiana we celebrate this night in all sorts of ways. The mayor of New Orleans cuts the first official king cake and Zulu unveils their official Mardi Gras poster. Phunny Phorty Phellows take their annual raucous ride on a St. Charles Ave. Streetcar. Al 'Carnival Time' Johnson can be found playing his signature song.

Orders taken first come, first serve, so place your orders early! Laissez le bons temps rouler!

Oh, yeah! Let the parades begin. Loved going to the different krewe's balls - there was always one of my Newcomb classmates who was queen. Fun times! Only regret is we never caught a coconut at Zulu. And this was with the Tulane basketball team. People on the floats did throw us somethin' though ( beer and fried chicken plus beads). Hey, throw me somethin', mistah!
