As awful as the storms have been for others (and perhaps even more), we came on down to the Panhandle for a trip we had planned in Feb. We had already been here in June.
The water has been almost clear and calm. Yellow flag with occasional purple. Saw the jellyfish - maybe six or so total - before they put the flag up, then didn't see them anymore.
So quiet at Seaside.
One row of beach chairs.
Hardly anyone in the water.
We've spent money at Modica - don't know how many times - we keep their sandwiches in the refrigerator. Basmati's, Great Southern, 45 Central (paella), Publix - once, a few items, Bud & Alleys - tuna dip and Idyllhound beer.
Seagrove Market is closed today so we might get there tomorrow.
Of course, the new bridge at Western Lake is wonderful. The extra parking along 30A. Will be interested to see how 395 and 30A works on our next visit - May 2018 unless we come in February to ride bikes and the weather from Louisville to here is abnormally warm.
Pickets is permanently closed.
New homes going up everywhere! Too many.
Still love coming here.
Hope the day never comes that we have to go somewhere else for beach, bike, restaurant fix. (We've got the bikes and restaurants at home, just missing that beach.)
Ellen
