Walton County Department of Solid Waste and Recycling Debuts New Recycling Trailer in Partnership with Sandestin Owners Association

On Wednesday, October 28th, the Walton County Department of Solid Waste and Recycling, in partnership with the Sandestin Owners Association, debuted their new recycling trailer.

“The newest trailer is not only larger, but also includes a receptacle to accept cardboard,” said Solid Waste Manager Jeff Massey. “These new trailers will allow the County to accept a larger variety of recyclables through their use.”

Through a partnership with the Sandestin Owner’s Association, the first of these new trailers have been placed for use within Sandestin. According to the Solid Waste Department, there were approximately 2.1 tons of recyclables collected at the Sandestin location per month using the older, smaller trailer. With the placing of the larger trailer, that number is expected to increase.

The Walton County Department of Solid Waste and Recycling will be purchasing and locating 2 additional trailers this year. The locations of these new trailers will be announced once they have been determined.
