At the September 27th BCC Meeting, Commissioners approved a resolution, designating the month of October 2022 as Coastal Dune Lake Month.

The Coastal Dune Lake Advisory Board was established in 2002 by the Board of County Commissioners in an effort to protect the Walton County Coastal Dune Lakes. In celebration of the past 20 years of protection efforts, the Coastal Dune Lake Advisory Board will be hosting a month long celebration to include community education and outreach, coastal dune lake clean-up activities, tours of the coastal dune lakes, restoration activities and so much more! About this event​

Every Saturday during the month October 2022, the Coastal Dune Lake Advisory Board is hosting a DIY Coastal Dune Lake Clean-Up. Individuals or Groups can come together to clean-up the water's edge and outfall areas of the Walton County Coastal Dune Lakes.

Instructions: Pick your favorite coastal dune lake, pick up trash, place trash at a TDC trash receptacle, post a picture on the County Facebook Page. #CDLCleanUp

The Deer Lake Restoration Tour
Oct 18 & 20

The tour will start at 9am and will go until approximately 12pm. Jeff Talbert will be the tour guide and has asked that everyone meet at The Big Chill (7000 E County 30A, Watersound, FL 32461). Jeff will then lead everyone to the state park property.
