Do you have a 4 wheel Drive vehicle and want to drive on the Beach in Walton County? Driving on the Beach permits are available at either branch office of the Walton County Tax Collector.

Charges
$105.00 For 4-wheel drive vehicles to drive on beach only.
$30.00 For a trailer decal for launching a boat. To be placed on the tongue of the trailer. NOTE: This Boat Launch Permit does not include personal watercraft.

Disabled persons are exempt from the fee, upon submission of documentation of their disability.

Permit renewals will begin on May 23, 2005 and new permits are available for issue beginning June 1, 2005 of each year at both Walton County Tax Collector locations.

All permits expire on June 1, regardless of the purchase date.

Requirements
Applicant must own real property in Walton County.
Applicant must own the vehicle to be permitted.
The vehicle must be a 4 wheel drive vehicle.

New Applicants
Must complete and sign an application.
Provide a copy of your driver's license.
The tax collector's staff will verify real property ownership in Walton County, and verify that the applicant is the owner of the vehicle to be permitted.

Additional Drivers
Up to four additional drivers may be added at no charge. However, a copy of the driver's license for each additional driver must be included with the application.Disabled persons may have only one additional driver per no-charge permit.

Beach Accesses
You may access the beach with your permitted vehicle at the following locations:

Grayton Beach: An area extending the distance of the beach described in the lease between Walton county and the State of Florida Internal Improvement Trust Fund/Bureau of Lands, Number 3884, dated October 1986.

Inlet Beach: An area extending from the East boundary line from Lakeshore drive eastward for a distance of 600 feet.

Walton Park: An area extending for the West boundary line of Walton Park westward for a distance of 1600 feet. (This area is TEMPORARILY CLOSED)

Seagrove Beach: An area extending from the East boundary line of One Seagrove Place eastward for a distance of 1600 feet. (This area is TEMPORARILY CLOSED)

Driving is prohibited from 10:00 p.m. until sunrise, with the exception of vehicles launching or recovering boats. All vehicles launching boats must be parked in the designated parking areas.

NOTE: Pursuant to Walton County Ordinance, you may not launch a personal watercraft (i.e. Jetski, Waverunner) from the beach access. Launching personal watercraft for County or State owned properties or parks is strictly prohibited by these ordinances.

They haven't set up the internet renewal yet. It is supposed to be under construction. Call them or e-mail them on Monday and ask about renewal by mail. You may be able to do that if you send a copy of your old paper permit.
