South Walton?s future at stake; Blackshear to address SWCC March 2
South Walton is at a critical juncture. Many areas have already reached build-out and are entering the redevelopment stage. Can the traditional neighborhood continue to exist? Will 30-A reach gridlock? What the county is doing to address these and other growth issues will be the topic of the South Walton Community Council public forum to be held March 2. Walton County Planning Director Pat Blackshear will discuss proposed amendments to the county?s Comprehensive Plan that will set priorities and a vision for the future. Ms. Blackshear?s experience before directing the Walton County Planning Department includes directing the Okaloosa County Growth Management Department and serving as the intergovernmental coordinator for the Northwest Florida Water Management District. She also has served on numerous state-wide committees addressing issues of growth management, water supply, land use and transportation. The forum begins at 7PM on March 2 at the Coastal Branch Library located at 437 Greenway Trail, behind the courthouse off Highway 331.
