Primrose, the signature restaurant at The Henderson, has launched a new seasonal menu, filled with Gulf-caught seafood, farm-fresh dishes and vibrant flavors. Named for Destin’s famed and historic fishing boat, Primrose is located in the heart of The Henderson, a Salamander Beach & Spa Resort. Open to the public, the restaurant has expansive views of Henderson Beach State Park, the resort’s pool area and the Gulf of Mexico. With an inviting, coastal atmosphere, it features an open-kitchen, sushi bar, a wine-encased private dining room and outdoor terrace seating. New dishes include an eight-ounce blackened or pan-seared Red Snapper; a Five Spice Calamari with jalapeños, caramelized shallots, and sweet garlic; Lobster Mashed Potatoes with chive butter; Roasted Pork Belly with a spiced mango chutney and dried yellow mustard; an array of fresh sushi and sashimi; and a 14-ounce Prime New York Sirloin Strip. In addition, The Henderson has welcomed Gary Palm as the head chef of Primrose on Mother’s Day 2018. Palm brings more than 25 years of worldwide culinary experience to the resort. Well-traveled, he joined The Henderson team after working in France, Monte Carlo, India, Korea, Indonesia and China with international hotel brands such as Intercontinental Hotels, Ritz-Carlton, Taj Resort and Palaces, and Ayana Resort and Hotels. Palm has had the honor of cooking for the Prime Minister of Vietnam, President of Chile, and President Bill Clinton during several events and occasions. Additionally, he was the Supervising Chef at the Chaine de Rotisseur in Indonesia during a dinner for US Ambassador Robert O. Blake Jr. in 2016. “Our new seasonal menu focuses on Gulf-to-table offerings with unique flavors and texture,” said Chef Palm. “I pride myself on using local farmers and fishermen to highlight our region’s produce to all of our guests – whether they are from Destin or Dallas.” In addition to Primrose, The Henderson includes the beautiful Horizons Bar featuring stunning sunset views.
