The next forum is at South Walton High School on Thursday night. I was just sent an email from the Walton Republican Women Federated (sponsoring body) the following list of topics that they are preparing questions for the Commission candidates.

They are:

1. Taxes
2. EOC
3. Infrastructure
4. Growth Management
5. Low Cost Housing

This is the first forum with a format that truly allows for an exchange between the candidates.

The Walton Republican Women Federated (WRWF) request your participation in a Public Forum to be held on Thursday, July 31st from 6-8 PM at South Walton High School Auditorium. We will be using a format a little different from others you may have participated in. All candidates in their category will be asked the same three questions. Response order will be by draw, so that no one knows who will answer first in each round. Answers will be limited to one minute. You will be signaled at 30, 15 sec and stop. Be concise and to the point. You will have 2 minutes for intro and 2 minutes at the end for summation. A really good response can be provided in one minute. You will be given 5 general topics a week prior from which the 3 questions will be drawn. We are also asking for each candidate to provide us with one (1) yard sign. These will be used as your table nametag. This will allow the audience an opportunity to put a face and voice with the sign. We will be asking questions of the Commissioner and Sheriff's candidates only (Sheriff candidates go first). Between the two segments will be a 2-minute "Magic Moments" for each of the other candidates for all local positions to express what One (1) quality or asset they bring to the ballot that sets them apart from their opponents. There will be no Q & A for anyone else. Please make yourself available for a brief time after the meeting for any questions or encouragement the public wishes to express.
