QUEENS RANSOM ABOUT/BIO

Queens Ransom is a trio of three powerhouse musical mamas based in the Florida panhandle. Krissa Gillespie, Casey Kearney and Amy Gibson each with their own solid musical careers have joined forces, voices and passions. When blues meets country then mixes with angelic harmonies and fiddle accents, a unique blend of magic is made. The girls share an excitement and profound respect for each other’s unique talents and life as mothers in the music business. Coming together as Queens Ransom is fulfilling long time dreams they have shared as fans of all girl bands like Pistol Annies, The Highwomen, The Chicks, and so many more.

Amy Gibson, violinist and vocalist, is an Alabama native. Amy has been singing harmony with her mother almost as long as she has been talking. At the age of 7, she began classical violin training. Amy has been performing in front of an audience for most of her life, but it wasn't until college that she began playing with a band. Amy began playing with The Blu Jays in 2011, with whom she has toured all over the South and Emerald Coast. In 2015, after four years of playing, she married her guitar player, Jay Gibson, and is living happily ever after.

In addition to being a musician, Amy is a Women's Health Registered Nurse and works for the United States Airforce. After busy days of caring for pregnant service members, Amy enjoys teaching voice and violin lessons. However, her most important job is being a mom to her little boy, Ransom.

Krissa Gillespie, a Nashville native, first got her start in music when she moved to Los Angeles at 20 years old where she started writing songs and recording. After moving back to the south in 2007, she joined an R&B soul band that played every weekend at Beluga Martini bar in Atlanta Ga. Claiborne, who soon became her mentor and best friend, really brought her out of her shell and taught her how to “entertain the people.”

In 2011 she moved to Santa Rosa Beach where she met Jabbo. They started a duo and have played regularly at Cabana Cafe in Miramar for over 10 years. Soon after temporarily filling in with Black Eyed Blonde, a longtime legendary local band, she met her husband Mark Gillespie, who at the time was playing for country singer Trace Adkins. They fell in love and got married. He retired from the road and they started their own band “The Pickled Pickers.” The Pickers are considered one of the top bands in the panhandle of FL. The energy and talent Krissa brings to the stage is unmatched.

She and Mark have a little girl, Kennedy Rose, who is the light of their lives and even at the age of two, has started taking up music and already loves the stage.

Casey Kearney was born and raised in the Florida panhandle, where she still resides with her husband of 21 years and 3 teenage children. Music was not something she saw herself pursuing as a young girl. Casey started to discover a passion for singing, songwriting and learning to play instruments while balancing her family life and growing babies.

In 2016 she went to Nashville to record her debut EP. Since then she has recorded and released multiple original music and cover song projects, videos, and performed on stages all over the country. Singing for the Atlanta Braves and having her original song “Waffle House” receive national attention have been highlights in her musical career, but nothing compares to being on the rodeo road with her family on the weekends watching them pursue their passion as real life cowboys and cowgirls.
