Run/Sup invites you to paddle & run for a cause has they join forces with Fit For Hope to host the first of many pop-up events in support of providing emergency services to abused women. Pop-Up 001 will take place on Saturday, September 29th from 7:30am - 10:30am at The BoatHouse Paddle Club in WaterColor. Participants will spend the morning working through a 4.5 mile combined stand-up paddle and trail running course through Western Lake & Grayton Beach State Park.

Registration is free, but donations are welcome! Register now at Pop-Up 001 by RUN/SUP + Fit For Hope.

This event will set-out with a 1/2 mile stand-up paddle from the Watercolor Boathouse Bridge to a marked trailhead on Western Lake's northern shore, where an untimed transition zone will be set-up for participants to stash their board and paddle before starting a 3.5 mile run through some of Grayton Beach State Park's finest trails. An aid station stocked with water, sports drink mix, and ice will be positioned roughly at the halfway mark. Participants will complete another untimed transition back onto their boards for the final 1/2 mile paddle to the Watercolor Boathouse bridge.

A limited supply of paddle boards will be available for rent day-of on a first-come-first-serve basis courtesy of RUN/SUP. Participants are encouraged to bring water or your preferred hydration mix in a refillable bottle or bladder, a towel to enjoy a refreshing, post-race coll down in Western Lake and if you're able to, a recreational board under 12' with a Coast Guard-certified life vest and paddle.

All Pop-Up Series events benefit Fit For Hope's work providing emergency services to women who have suffered from physical, sexual, and emotional abuse. By donating at a Fit For Hope Pup-Up Event, or by joining the Get Fit For Freedom campaign, you are making a measurable impact on the lives of women in desperate of support.

In 2017, Fit For Hope athletes raised over $30,000 to open an emergency shelter in Bologna, Italy—one of the world's most active human trafficking thoroughfares. However, with the local orientation of this race series, proceeds will be granted to established shelters and agencies on the Emerald Coast that serve abused woman and victims of human trafficking.
