What happened to the COVID-19 restrictions on large gatherings? You folks at SoWal.com are promoting this but yet the last eight months you’ve been the first to issue dire warnings! I am all for nonprofit events it’s one of the reasons I moved to this area of the panhandle to participate but what happened to Covid warnings.. it’s still among us

There are festivals coming up you don't have to go. This site like any other will post about them and allow people to post about it whether you think it is OK or not. We've had more visitors than ever and they want information. There's a difference between this site and social media, and the TDC that advertises to fill beds.

That's a fair question and I appreciate it.

While many of our traditional festivals and events are on hold, our community website and events calendar will continue to provide readers with current events and news. We can promote local safety while also keeping you up to date on businesses and happenings. Sowal.com/Events

Many events are happening along the coast from art receptions to virtual music festivals, grand openings, drive-in film festivals, outdoor activities and farmers markets. Many of these are thoughtfully planned for these unusual times, moved outdoors, or postponed... We try to keep readers up to date.

We try to provide an overall look at our community for a diverse readership of locals, visitors, businesses, second homeowners, beach lovers near and far.

South Walton tourism has not stopped or even slowed. We are thankful for leadership displayed by our local beach towns and businesses that are continuing to work hard while also committing to safety measures to the extent possible. It has not been easy for many businesses in so many ways.

We will always keep you posted on community news and local events... as well as community risks and ways to stay safe. Thank you for reading. Please stay safe wherever you are.

There are ZERO restrictions for awhile now in Florida thank our Trump-sycophant, science denying governor and our county rednecks.

The dire warnings posted here are by everyone, and information from lots of sources. You can tell people whats going on and still be responsible. Yes The situation is dire. At least the Gumbo festival is outside. Still, If you go wear a mask.
