Re: Seacrest Beach

Just went down and took bunches of photos. Looks like sand erosion is from 1.5-10 feet in spots.

Rosemary Beach - 3 damaged walkways.
Found pieces of one in Paradise by the Sea. The damaged walkovers were on each extreme end. The center walkways did quite well and this where it looks like about 1.5 feet of the sand base was taken.

Seacrest Beach - Deeded Walkover was damaged. Need to jump down 2 feet to get from bottom step to sand. Our new sand and plantings held up beautifully! Little erosion.

They did come by and close the beach but isn't stopping the vacationers and
Rosemary was still renting chairs and umbrellas.

Gotta run an errand and will post photos when I get back.

You can relax :clap_1: , Debbie

Kurt,

We are headed to Palms of Seagrove next Saturday. You posted a picture from "behind" Palms of Seagrove. From the picture, it appears that the walkover in the foreground does not reach the beach. Is this the Palms' walkover?

Yes the steps were lost, leaving about a 20 foot drop. They may be rebuilt bythe time you get here. If not, they'll have to acquire adjacent access, or use a public one.

Here at Capistrano we have about an 8' drop at the dune line. Many walkovers between here and Seacrest Beach have lost their bottom section. We stood and watched pieces of Rosemary lumber float by all day long during the storm.
