Welcome to one of the most anticipated weekend events in South Walton, Florida!!! The Seaside School Half Marathon and 5K Race, presented by Vera Bradley, is coming up on Sunday, Mar. 1, along with some incredible parties and expos leading up to race day. The run is sold out with around 4,000 people from 40 states are coming to SoWal Beaches to participate in the race this year - a record number! Thousands of friends and families will be cheering from the sidelines along the Scenic 30A race course. The race starts early Sunday morning in Seaside and the course continues west along Scenic 30A through WaterColor, over Western Lake in Grayton Beach, through Blue Mountain Beach to Gulf Place, and then back to Seaside.

This year's race weekend is bigger and better than ever! There are some great events leading up to race day which are open to everyone. Taste of the Race with Emeril Lagasse kicks off the weekend on Friday evening, after a meet and greet at Modica Market (get your raffle tix). Saturday's Race Expo & Silent Auction Expo is one big party all afternoon. Sunday is race day followed by a post-race party with live music.

Chef Emeril at Modica Market
Join Chef Emeril Lagasse and friends at Modica Market Friday afternoon from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Raffle tickets can be purchased for a chance to win a set of Emeril’s Cookware, a $300 gift basket from Modica Market, and other goodies! Raffle tickets are $5 each or five tickets for $20 and can be purchased at Modica Market any time up to this event. The drawing will be held at Modica Market on February 27th at 4:00 p.m. You do not need to be present to win. Raffle proceeds benefit the Seaside School Foundation.

Taste of The Race with Chef Emeril Lagasse!

6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Taste of The Race Party with Chef Emeril Lagasse
Everyone's invited to come out for the pre-race celebration! Guests will feast on delicious food from some of Florida Gulf Coast’s top chefs and dance to great live music by the Trick Pony. Tickets are limited for both the VIP and General Admission. Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.tasteoftherace.eventbrite.com.

Post Race Party After the race on Sunday, get ready for some fabulous post-race fun, including party music, and great food and drink. Thanks to the South Walton community, runners and volunteers for coming out to celebrate the 13th Annual Seaside Half Marathon & 5K Run!

We used to do this every year. Then "global warming" started, and we stopped doing it. I don't understand why winters in SoWal are getting colder. :sosad:

As long as I can remember, some years are just downright cold... about 5 years ago it was cold and rainy! But some years (like last year if I recall correctly) are perfect. I don't run in it but have volunteered at water station on the course...
