Our Taste of the Race will be held 2/28/20, the Race Expo happens on 2/29/20 (Leap Day), and we will run on 3/1/20. Nearly 4,000 race participants turned out for the South Walton race held in March of this year to benefit Seaside Neighborhood School. More than $530,000 was raised during the 2019 Seaside School Half Marathon & 5K and Taste of the Race, said Teresa Horton, executive director of the Seaside School Foundation.

If you’ve ever seen the Jim Carrey film, The Truman Show, then you have an idea of the kind of beautiful coastal architecture that you’ll find along the route at the annual race. The course takes runners on a long, straightaway-style out-and-back course along Highway 30A through several beach towns that stretch along Florida’s Gulf coast. Every year, the gap between The Seaside School standard of excellence and the funding provided by the state seems to grow more and more. There are either funding cuts or we simply want more for the students. In any case, the shortfall is significant each year. Great things are happening at the Seaside School… thanks to you! Race Day | Sunday March 1, 2019 Course Descriptions Half Marathon: The course is fast and mostly flat. The race is USATF certified, and will start and finish in downtown Seaside. From Seaside, the racers will run West along scenic Highway 30A, past the beach towns of Watercolor, Grayton, Blue Mountain Beach, and Santa Rosa Beach, with the halfway point and turnaround at Gulf Place. Please use caution throughout the race course. Volunteers and police will monitor the cross traffic at all intersections, as much as possible. Volunteers and community groups will line the race course to cheer you on and provide entertainment. 5K: The course is fast and flat. The race will start and finish in downtown Seaside.
