Indulge in a weekend full of savory tacos, smooth tequilas, live music and lively competition. Taco lovers will come from all over the Southeast to celebrate all things Tequila and Tacos. Because of the popularity and growth in the Tequila & Taco Fest, this years event has moved to a larger venue at The Seascape Towne Centre located right off Hwy 98 at Seascape Resort, Miramar Beach, Florida. A portion of the proceeds from this years event will benefit Fisher House of The Emerald Coast, Inc.
At this epic culinary event, festival goers will find an array of tacos prepared with fresh local ingredients prepared by the top local restaurants. Competing restaurants will serve up mouth-watering tacos with exotic twists on beef, pork, chicken, fish and shrimp. Vegan and traditional Latin choices will also be available.
Event Producer, Carlos Shaffran explains, “It is a great place to experience creative tacos you may have never imagined.” Over 20 restaurants are expected to compete for over $4,000.00 dollars in prizes and bragging rights of the BEST Taco on the Beach!
Celebrity judges will vote for their favorite taco and tequila. Live bands and DJ’s will play on two stages. A Chihuahua Beauty pageant will be held along with the crowd favorite, Macho Nacho Eating Contest and the Longest Tortilla Toss.
Sample over 30 different tequilas, specialty Margaritas and tequilas while listening to authentic latin music. Shaffran explains, “The opportunity to learn about different types of tequila is phenomenal!” Tequilas with smokey flavors, notes of sweet agave and Blanco tequilas will be available. Super premium tequilas, including Don Julio 1942 and Patron, will be available to VIP ticket holders.
A weekend of fun begins on Friday, March 6th at 6:00 PM with a “Bocadillo & Margaritas” kick-off party, presented by Camarena Tequila at Mezcal Mexican Grill. Live music and entertainment featuring DJ Vasco on the outdoor event plaza .
The main event on Saturday, March 7 at 1:00 PM with the After Party starting on 5:00 PM followed by a huge concert hosted by The Village Door Music Hall featuring a concert by Eli Young Band. The finale event is on Sunday, March 8, A Bye Bye Brunch at Acme Oyster House 11:00 - 2:00 PM.
A limited number of VIP tickets are available and include premium tastings, swag bags and commemorative festival gear. The event is family friendly and offers discounted tickets to active duty and retired US Armed Forces and First responders.
About Fisher House of the Emerald Coast, Inc.
Fisher House of the Emerald Coast is this years beneficiary for Tequila and Taco Fest. "We are so pleased that the upcoming 7th annual Tacos and Tequila at Seascape will bless the military families staying at our Fisher House on Eglin AFB. Approximately 1000 guests stay at our comfort home each year while receiving local medical care and we are able to keep these families together for hope and healing through the generosity of events such as these." Founded in 2008, Fisher House of the Emerald Coast, Inc provides a home for military families when a member of their family is undergoing medical treatment at a local facility. This service is provided free of charge to families with a service member who has served in any branch.
