Topsail Hill Preserve State Park is a wonderful place to explore any day of the year. Mark your calendar and make plans to attend some of the weekly music events and park rangers programs coming up in October at this Florida State Park located on the west end of Scenic 30A in South Walton. It's time to get back to nature!

Two very special events are coming to Topsail Hill Preserve State Park in October! Back to Nature Festival on Oct. 19 and the park's annual Fall Festival/Haunted Tram Ride on Oct. 24 & 25! See below for details on these and all events.

You're going to love Topsail Hill Preserve State Parks, one of the most beautiful coastal preserves in South Walton, Florida. Topsail in October is better than ever.

Americana Under the Stars
Live music comes to the park on Thursday nights from 6:00pm– 8:00pm, starting with an open mic at 6pm in the amphitheater. Free admission into park and a suggested donation of $5 goes to the Friends of Topsail Hill. Bring a chair, your favorite beverage and enjoy some music in the park. This is family/ pet friendly and fun for all ages.

Park Ranger Programs, Adventure and Festivals
A variety of programs are presented by park rangers throughout the year on wildlife, adventure and natural resources. Don't miss two festivals coming to the park in Oct! Here's the schedule.

Friday October 3 | No Name Lake Hike 10:00am-11:00am
Topsail Hill Preserve State Park invites you on a hike to view the parks natural beauty. This ranger led hike will take you through several of the ecosystems that make this park unique. The walk will culminate on the shore of No Name Lake and perhaps with a glimpse of the resident alligator. Please no open toe shoes This is an all ages program . Enter the park through the main gate and the staff will Tram Stop 1, entry fee is $6.00.

Friday October 10 | Eastern Gray Squirrel 2:00pm-3:00pm
Come learn about our most widely seen rodents the Eastern Gray Squirrel. You’ll find out what an important part of the ecosystem these squirrels play . Enter the park through the main gate and the staff will direct you to the park's clubhouse, entry fee is $6.00.

Sunday October 19 | SWCC's Back to Nature Festival
The South Walton Community Council will be having their annual Back to Nature Festival at the park. There will be a festival throughout the day as well as nature hikes, kayak tours, music and much more. Information can be found at www.southwaltoncc.org

Friday, Saturday October 24-25 | Fall Festival 6:00-10:00pm
It’s time again for our annual Fall Festival. There will be a haunted tram ride, activities, food, and games for children. This is an all ages event although there may be age restrictions on the haunted tram ride. All proceeds go to support the Friends of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park. There is no entry fee to the park for this event. For more information please contact the park directly at 850-267-8330

Friday October 31 | Black Bears 2:00pm-3:00pm
Topsail Hill Preserve State Park invites you to an informational program on the Florida Black Bear. This program will cover the basics of the bears life in Florida, such as life span, denning habits, eating habits, and much more. This will be an all ages program and will take place in the clubhouse, entry fee is $6.00.
