We need to be patient and look for reasonable deals and/or usable lots in order to expand access and parking along the beaches. When good deals come along we need to jump on them.

Still shocked at the Grayton Grand purchase.

I read where the BCC was looking at about 20 possibles on the market. After word got out that the checkbook was open dozens more became available. Why can't the county negotiate like anyone lese instead of jumping through hoops for real estate lawyers and appraisers? I guess we would need a shrew business person handling it.

The County is willing to spend millions of dollars to purchase prime real estate for public access to our beaches and then turn around a give 50% of it to vendors for FREE! What a cushy deal.

Some BCC members and voters have family in vendor business. Seems illegal?
Maybe some up coming investigative news reporter can snoop around..pretty sure that would shake them up..and maybe even cause the (BCC) to even act on the 2016 season in distress

If the media showed no interest in Cecilia Jones stealing political signs from someone's property, they will likely not care about her family beach vendor deal.

Ms. Jones is not the only member on the board with family connections to vendors.
Funny how BCC just kicks the can down the beach..NEVER yielding to the feelings of the voting public...#Cindyisgone. ::HINT:: ..........
it's all about the tourist...sad....

I don't think its the medias responsibility to care. Its ours. They will only do or get by with what the voters allow/tolerate.

Patient?
The market is improving. Patience will cost $$.
The county had plenty of opportunity to make smart land buys when the market was down.
Example:
The property across hwy 30A from the Ft. Panic (Dune Allen) beach access would have been an Excellent opportunity to create a parking facility for the access. And it probably wouldn't have cost twice appraised value like the recent purchase across from Stinkys.
Any insight why that wasn't pursued?
