During the October 25th, 2016 Walton County Board of County Commissioners (WCBCC) Meeting, the WCBCC approved the creation of a Customary Use Committee to make recommendations to the WCBCC concerning the future customary use of the dry sandy beaches in Walton County.

This recommendation came following the approval of a Customary Use Ordinance that is scheduled to go into effect on April 1st, 2017.

The WCBCC is seeking volunteers that would be interested in serving on this committee in order to provide recommendation in regard to customary use of the dry sandy beaches in Walton County.

This committee will be subject to the sunshine law and public records laws as it will be making formal recommendations to the WCBCC.

Applications to serve on this volunteer committee will be accepted until 4:30pm on Tuesday, November 1st. Applications can be submitted via hardcopy to Deputy Administrator Dede Hinote at the Administration Office located at 76 N. 6th Street in DeFuniak Springs, or can be emailed to hindede@co.walton.fl.us<

All applicants should complete the application in full, and must provide information on why they believe that they would be qualified to serve on this committee.
