:dunno:Hubby caught a very unusual fish today, behind Eastern Shores, and we are unable to identify it. It was about 10-12 inches long, grey and white striped, and had fins on each side resembling "wings". Anybody have any idea what it was???

mullet?

I have seen some flying fish around here once, but they don't typically get that long and they jump out on occasion, with fins looking like bat wings.

Sundog Books may still have some copies of Sport Fish of Florida which is a great reference book for fish identification.
