Cocoon?s combines stores

BY JOYCE OWEN SUN REPORTER

When everything comes together ? the perfect wine paired with the perfect meal, guests are thrilled, the host receives rave reviews ? it?s considered a success.
And so with the merger of Cocoon?s and Cocoon?s Too, the wine shop, visitors to the tiny shop in Seagrove find the merger of the two has created another perfect pairing.
?Like some wines when paired with the right food, it enhances the wine,? said Stephen LaDow.
For visitors to Cocoon?s the chance to stop by for food and then select a bottle of wine at one location means another meal is easily managed.
When Michael and Linda LaDow created Cocoon?s to give visitors and locals great rotisserie roasted chicken and ribs, freshly made salads and sides, it was a solution to avoid the hassles of dining out every night.
When the owners of the only wine shop on the east end of County Road 30A decided to sell, the LaDow?s brought son Stephen to the beach to take over that business, renaming it Cocoon?s Too.
But things change, and when new development meant his shop would be demolished, Stephen found a new location ? squeezing into Cocoon?s.
Although he buys the wine and stocks it, now that the two shops have settled under one roof, Stephen can devote time to holding Friday afternoon wine tastings.
?Wine tastings help people connect with the wines,? he said.
Providing wine enthusiasts the opportunity to experiment with new wines is another reason to hold wine tastings. It also brings business to both sides of the shop.
And for those that haven?t found a wine they like, Stephen suggested that they not give up. Go to tastings, he said. Try different wines and give them a chance.
?There?s a wine out there for everybody,? he said. ?That?s the exciting thing about wines.?
