Scenic Corridor Foundation will present Donut Hole in Inlet Beach with a Design Excellence Award on Thursday, April 5th. Kicking off the celebration at 9am, owner Brent Chandler will receive the award at a special presentation ceremony.

Scenic Corridor Foundation created this award in 2017 to recognize businesses and developers who build or renovate projects that best exemplify the intent of the Scenic Corridor Guidelines established for developments on U.S. 98 and U.S. 331 S. in Chapter 13 of the Walton County Land Development Code.

The architect who designed the building, Geoff Chick, will be commended for his contribution to the project. Scenic Corridor Foundation will also recognize the contribution of landscape architect Brad Davis, who designed the landscaping, and Karen Sinclair Kerns, who designed the interior and outdoor furniture for the project. This is the third consecutive recognition for Davis, who was also the landscape architect for two other projects – John Fayard Self Storage and Tom Thumb in the Sandestin area – both previous recipients of the Design Excellence Award.

“It’s a positive thing for our community and a positive thing for tourism,” said Foundation Board Member Leigh Moore. “I think when people drive into this area, they feel and see the difference and that’s really important. The Foundation believes it is all about improving quality of life in the community, improving property values and making the development more sustainable and in keeping with the character of the community.”

Scenic Corridor Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that promotes increased property values, a robust business environment and safe and beautiful surroundings for all by proactively working to preserve, protect and enhance the Hwy. 98 and Hwy. 331 Scenic Corridor in Walton County, Florida.
