30A Street Style Launches New E-Zine
July 16, 2013 by SoWal Staff
30A Street Style has launched its first ever e-zine, a quarterly online magazine for local fashionistas interested in keeping up with the South Walton and Destin style scene. The e-zine spotlights local fashion, area-shopping options, street-style images, national trends and style commentary from fashion bloggers around the web. The first issue of the new e-zine is already making a splash.
“The response has been overwhelming in the first week alone,” says Jami Ray, owner of Outright Social Communication, who created and designed the publication. “The tweets, comments and emails we’ve received have really confirmed that our local fashion scene was hungry for this. People are already asking when we plan to distribute the next issue.”
A brainstorming session to fill 16-20 pages resulted in a fashion-packed 54 page debut. Content includes “Snag the Style” with real fashion trends for inspiration; “Geek Chic” with music, books and stylish tech accessories; coverage from the Ophelia Swimwear “Bellinis & Bikinis” event; and “Beach It Like a Blogger” with insider tips from bloggers of I Heart Heels; Womanista; A Piece of Toast; Lipstick, Heels & A Baby and Sugar & Swim. Within the first seven days the e-zine was posted, it was read over 1,100 times and received nearly 50,000 impressions.
What started as a lunch-hour project has truly turned into something incredible.
“At Outright Social, we are continually pushing ourselves to think of fresh and engaging ideas,” says Ray. “With clients in a variety of industries that sometimes overlap with the style world, we found ourselves interested in exploring more local fashion. When covering area events like Digital Graffiti, 30A Songwriters Festival and ArtsQuest, we were constantly fielding questions like 'What should we wear?’ and ‘Where are the best shops on 30A?’ Launching 30A Street Style was a real opportunity to help shape the local style scene.”
The theme behind 30A Street Style is real indeed - Real People. Real Places. Real Fashion. The team has captured true street style and encourages their fans to do the same, posting photos and style through Instagram and other social media channels.
“We love the idea of sharing cool shots captured in places like Rosemary Beach, Seaside and Sandestin, then tracking trends and breaking down looks into practical tips that are easy to apply. We’ve already seen local styles go beyond our small-town borders thanks to posting through 30A Street Style. Everyone knows the beaches on 30A are beautiful. Now we’re sharing that the people here are just as stylish.”
