November 27, 2012 by SoWal Staff

Friday evening, November 30, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm, Amavida Coffee Shop located in Rosemary Beach at 103 N. Barrett Square will host an artists’ opening night reception to kick-off their latest art exhibit. The show, which continues throughout the month of December, will showcase the works of local artist Melissa Davis and landscape photographer Jamie Conley.

Longtime artist and yoga instructor, Melissa Davis will be highlighting her latest works and newest artistic passion, painting in encaustic. Davis is well known for her abstract impressionistic art, inspired by the soft coastal palettes found along the beaches of 30A. In addition to being featured in art shows, Melissa also works with interior designers to create custom pieces, and her artwork graces many homes and businesses all across the South.

The photography portion of the Amavida exhibit will feature 30A’s newest landscape photographer Jamie Conley. Conley began photographing the beaches, coastal dune lakes and nature areas several years ago. She wanted to fill a need for stock photographs in her marketing work at local real estate company, Davis Properties. She has just launched her fine art photography business, J Conley Images.

Friday evening’s artists reception with live music and complimentary hors d’oeuvres is open to the public.
