Drift 30A Home & Gifts in Inlet Beach Embraces Collaboration

April 16, 2018 by Kerri Parker

DRIFT 30A Home & Gifts is the kind of place that you walk in, and rather than meandering through the store, you find yourself settling into a comfy spot, envisioning where you might place everything you see surrounding you.

Owner Karin Anderson just celebrated a successful first year and her showroom has become a ‘must stop’ for those in the know. It's also in a highly visible spot on Hwy 98 in Inlet Beach with lots of visitors popping in.

Karin is always in motion and continuously creating inspired vignettes throughout her store that encourage you to relax, like you just walked through your own door. With accessible price point for gifts, furnishings and jewelry, the not-so-small showroom makes shopping for everyone on your list a cinch.

“I want everyone, including your high schooler - shopping for a gift for his mom – to find affordable personal gifts, and allow us to specially wrap it, offering a one-stop-shop appeal,” says Karin.

While some choose to anchor themselves to their career when approaching an empty nest, Karin chose to open DRIFT; Allowing herself to become a local where she had always vacationed, here in South Walton.

“DRIFT became my dream as my only son was about to graduate. Coastal interior designing is my passion. I knew it was time to let go of being an attorney and DRIFT,” says Karin.

Aside from comfortable coastal furnishings, the spacious showroom is flanked with artwork from local artists, and some international artists who happen to be local. You will find fine art photography by Tommy Crow among various featured artists, all whom have become personal friends of Karin.

“I never imagined that the dream of having my own store would be supported by people I didn’t yet know,” says Karin. She moved to South Walton not knowing a soul.

DRIFT has a collaborative core value. Collaboration has inspired other local business owners to influence the success of the unique shop. Not only by offering their goods in DRIFT, but also by referrals. When a local designer sends their client to DRIFT it because they know the store has one-of-a-kind pieces, and their referral is genuinely reciprocated.

DRIFT 30A Home & Gifts is east of the intersection of Scenic 30A and Highway 98, in the same shopping plaza as The UPS Store. Catch a glimpse of what you will find in store on their website. Follow Drift on Facebook and Instagram for inspiration and share what the locals have learned about DRIFT – it’s a coastal treasure.
