PRP 30A Duathlon at WaterColor - Oct. 26

September 20, 2013 by SoWal Staff

PRP 30A is a paddle run paddle duathlon benefitting GULFSOUTH Dynamo soccer program and the South Walton Jr. Lifeguard Program. The race will take place at 7:00 a.m. beginning at Watercolor Beach. You will paddle one mile to Grayton Beach, run two miles from Grayton Beach to Watercolor Beach returning back to Grayton and then paddle two miles on Western Lake to finish at the Watercolor Boathouse.

The 85$ entry fee includes food, a sponsors bag and a race t-shirt. Trophies will go to first, second and third places in the Women's, Men's, Kid's Novice, and Elite divisions. Check in will be Friday October 25th from 2:00pm to 6:00pm at Pizza by the Sea in the Watercolor Publix complex.

Half of the proceeds will be to GULFSOUTH Dynamo, a soccer program that is focused on kids tournament play throughout the Emerald Coast. The money will help towards paying the coaches, buying equipment, and providing scholarships. GULFSOUTH Dynamo is a non-profit organization that relies on sponsors to create scholarships for children that other wise would not be able to participate in tournament soccer.

The other half of the proceeds will go to the South Walton Jr. Lifeguard program that provides a five-week lifeguard course for kids every summer that teaches water safety to our youth. This program has already saved lives and will continue to do so with your help. The money will help buy new equipment needing in the training.
