Sirens at the Beach Puts a Beautiful Twist on Attire for the Temptress

October 26, 2012 by Jill Tanner

Darcy Jasmine Pentel, a true SoWal local, opened Sirens at the Beach this past spring. Having lived here her whole life, she knew just what our town needed – a fabulous lingerie store for the flirtatious girl. SoWal is a huge wedding destination and she wanted to offer items that were both elegant and unique, while staying affordable.

Darcy is very in tune with the area. Her father, Capt. Larry of Dead Fish Charters, launches his boat right from Grayton Beach. Although she has her roots in the sand, Darcy felt the need to explore. She hit the road to places such as Nova Scotia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Scotland, Spain, and even backpacked across Europe.

But she always knew she would return home to Grayton Beach. She believes SoWal is the place to be, and prefers it over anywhere else in the world. Being around the water and fishing are huge parts of her life. So a few years back when a group of whale sharks showed up off the coast of Grayton in 2009 and stayed for a few days, Darcy dove right in to swim with them (see video below).

Darcy has seen the world, but still returned to lead her charmed life right in her own hometown. The idea of creating Sirens at the Beach came from years of sacrificing femininity for function. Most girls would agree that it is hard to find a bra that truly looks beautiful, while offering support and comfort. After a great deal of research, Darcy put together a collection of exquisite lingerie, gifts, robes, nightgowns, bath and body products, and bras and panties, to create Sirens at the Beach.

Darcy believes in making her products available to everyone by offering a variety of price points and choices. It doesn’t need to be a special occasion to look beautiful. With cotton bras starting at $39 and panties starting at just $14, rest assured you will find something you love at a reasonable price. Chemises, rompers, French-milled soaps, linens sprays, and bubble baths add to the one of a kind collection of Sirens at the Beach.

As a bride to be, the service I found most valuable was the custom bridal shower. A bride can create her own registry tailored to her needs and wants, and then hold the event at Sirens at the Beach in the adorable area of the store Darcy so rightfully calls “The Lavender Lounge.” Darcy can have snacks brought in or the hostess can have it catered. She can also put together personalized gift bags for your guests. This is probably the sweetest gift a bridesmaid could ask for; a beautiful party they will never forget and lingerie to take home.

Darcy set up the store in a way that just makes you feel pretty as you walk in.  “The Lavender Lounge” is just off to the right and decorated with a settee, a few vintage chairs, and a coffee table. It is the perfect place to relax as you and your girls try on gorgeous garments.  Create a party any day of the week by bringing champagne and your girlfriends, and make yourself at home.

Sirens at the Beach has designers that you can’t find anywhere else in the states. She also has some that are hard to find unless you are in Manhattan or Los Angeles. Sirens at the beach exclusively offers a line of handmade garters by Beespoke for your big day. As a bride, you will find everything you need to make your wedding night memorable, as well as some extras for your bridal party. Private appointments can also be booked upon request.
