Children Volunteer Health Network hosted a ribbon cutting for its new on-site dental clinic on Lynn Drive, next door to its administration building, Friday, May 04, 2012 shortly before noon.
The new clinic is in addition to the organization’s mobile unit and offers three treatment rooms and the latest in dental technology.

Here are the SoWal Junior Lifeguard Program details from the South Walton Fire Department's Beach Safety Division. For the 5th consecutive year the popular SWFD Junior Lifeguard Program will be under the supervision of Gary Wise, South Walton Fire District Beach Safety Director assisted by the South Walton Fire District Professional Lifeguards.

This inspiring overnight event unites the entire community in celebrating those who have had cancer, remembering loved ones lost, and providing an opportunity to fight back against the disease.

It all started with some sharkskin suits and Otis Redding tunes more than twelve years ago. Since that point, the members of the The Legendary J.C.’s have ridden a wave of press accolades and flocks of dedicated fans to a point where they are soaring.

The inaugural ANNIKA & Friends at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort will take place May 12-13, 2012. Annika, along with her celebrity friends and famous athletes, will join in an amazing weekend filled with golf, social events and fine dining.

All proceeds from ANNIKA & Friends at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort will go toward implementing SPARK – the leading physical education program for children in schools – in elementary schools in Northwest Florida and across the state.

Oysters. You may love to eat them but hate to see them on the bottom of your boat. Regardless of your personal feelings about these rock-like crustaceans, The Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance believes they are important enough to collect the discarded shells from local restaurants and recycle them into reefs along area shorelines.

The reefs serve as neighborhoods where live oysters can establish themselves and thrive, rather on the bottom of someone’s boat or dock.

Although Thomas Gallion and his family relocated from Montgomery, Alabama two years ago, his family has owned property in South Walton since the 1950’s. He was chosen by Atlanta-based Benecki Homes to supervise the construction of the 2012 Coastal Living Ultimate Dream House, currently under consrtuction in Rosemary Beach.
