The Sandestin Wine Festival at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, one of the most treasured traditions in the South, today announced that internationally known food personality, author and restaurateur Paula Deen will be featured at its April 2013 event.

CVHN Dental Clinic now serving children who quality for Medicaid

In its seventh year of serving the community, Children's Volunteer Health Network is continuing to expand its mission of enhancing the lives of uninsured and underinsured school-aged children in Okaloosa & Walton Counties. As of September 2012, CVHN had facilitated more than 9,900 medical, dental, vision and mental health care procedures since inception in 2005 and has now taken another step toward serving more children in the community. The CVHN Dental Clinic in Santa Rosa Beach, which opened in April 2012, will now be seeing children who qualify for Medicaid.

They were 84 days none of us will ever forget. From April 22 to July 15, an estimated 4.9 million barrels of light, sweet Louisiana crude spewed into the Gulf of Mexico, and it was feared to be only a matter of time before the sugar-white beaches of SoWal became a parking lot.

The news was everywhere and it was beyond bad. It was the apocalypse.  Even Jim Cramer, the host the CNBC show “Mad Money,” had an opinion.
