Roman Street Set For Sunday Concert At Seaside

You may not have heard the brand of Music made by Roman Street, but the fact that the group has a tune titled "HWY 30A" will tell you a bit about their attitude.
Blissfully, inspiration can happen in an instant and bloom into an unforeseen outcome. For two brothers with a passion for jazz guitar, this type of inspiration came when they met European guitar virtuosos, Toni Donadio and Nic Niedermann.
Hibiscus Coffee & Guesthouse Better Than Ever

For innkeeper Cheri Peebles, the latest additions at Hibiscus Coffee and Guesthouse in Grayton Beach are nothing more than normal growth for her popular gathering place.
The courtyard and gardens of the Grayton Beach landmark have always been perfect spots to enjoy the vegetarian breakfasts Peebles serves, but

Jazz fans in the area are in for a treat. Classical music lovers also have reason to celebrate. As do pop and rhythm and blues fans.
Four concerts Labor Day weekend in SoWal will provide a little something for everyone and will usher in the fall season as summer winds down.
A Nearby Secret Spot On The Forgotten Coast

If you promise to keep it to yourself, I’ll share a longtime secret spot where many locals go to escape the Summer SoWal craziness for a few days. Just two hours east, past the hustle and bustle of Panama City, you’ll find a quiet and quaint area between Port St. Joe and Apalachicola.
Empty Beaches, Great Fishing & Snappers To Come
The annual migration of the tourist families back North has happened with the onset of a new school year. The beaches are empty and as much as everyone who lives here enjoys having the visitors it sure is nice to have "our" beach back to ourselves! I got to take 4 days off and went over to Indian Pass and St Joe bay for a break. The Scallopin' was great and I had a blast swimming in the Bay 3 days in a row and eating some Fine fresh Scallop dinners.

Health Warning Signs Removed From Beaches

Just as Walton County bed tax collectors and members of the South Walton Tourist Development Council (TDC) were beginning to despair being part of a bureaucratic quagmire between state environmental officials and state health department officials over the posted warning signs at area beaches, official word was released on Aug. 13 to remove the signs effective immediately.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has extended the red snapper season - fishing is allowed on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from Oct. 1 to Nov. 22. This is something all the local guides were hoping for. Book a trip!
Louis Louis: You Gotta Go

You probably know that Louis Louis in Santa Rosa Beach is the "sister" restaurant of the wildly popular Red Bar in Grayton Beach. It would be a mistake to think that if you have eaten at Red Bar, you have eaten at Louis Louis, if for no other reason than you would be missing a hell of a good meal at a very reasonable price.
Walton County Gets Update From BP Representative
Randy Seward, a local representative of BP, provided an update to the Walton County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) at their Aug. 10 meeting in south Walton County.
Seward reported there had been no skimmable oil offshore from Walton County during the month of August. Current operations, he said, are focused on boom removal, while shoreline assessment continues.
Gargling Peanut Butter Ain't Easy, Jam Quite Tasty

A colored-glass bottle tree looms overhead while eye-catching folk art and wayward street signs grace the walls. The décor here is an eclectic mixture to say the least. Fitting then, that Graffiti and The Funky Blues Shack (FBS, as it's know to locals) will play host this weekend to one of music’s most eccentric personalities in Colonel Bruce Hampton.
Centerline Martial Arts in Miramar Beach: Front and Center

Eastern influences seem to grow stronger in America every day, with millions practicing Yoga, Tai Chi, and many different forms of martial arts.
It may surprise you to know there is a timeless, ancient art from the east practiced right here in SoWal taking front and center - the quiet strength of Wing Chun, practiced exclusively at Centerline Martial Arts.
Summer Break In The Fishing Action
After running as hard as as possible for three months, the phone has quieted down and my reservation book has lots of empty spots.
Today is the first pretty day I can remember where I don't have a charter. A little break in the action is a good thing even for a hardcore like me.

Sandestin Ready To Raise The Roof

Get yourself down to Baytowne Wharf in Sandestin this weekend and blow the roof off the joint. Make that joints, as several venues at the resort will be brimming with music during the first annual Sandestin Music Festival. While many of the featured performers have a strong country repertoire, variety will certainly not be lacking. Industry veterans and newcomers will take the stage performing a variety of genres, including country, blues, rock and soul.
