George's at Alys Beach
Whether you choose to Behave or Misbehave, George’s excellent reputation guarantees you’ll feast on the freshest food around. Each season’s bounty brings a new menu to George’s, along with a few tried and true favorites that never go away. It’s always prime time to experience the creativity and love that shines through each dish at the beloved Alys Beach restaurant on Scenic 30A.
Rick and Christy Spell of Spell Restaurant Group are the father/daughter duo behind George’s at Alys Beach. The pair owns two other local restaurants in addition to George’s - Saltwater Grill in Panama City Beach and La Cocina in neighboring Seacrest Beach. The Spells also own a popular restaurant in Memphis, Brookhaven Pub and Grill. There’s no shortage of experience at George’s.
George’s has an expert sommelier who maintains a thoughtfully curated wine list, and the staff can suggest the perfect wine to pair with your dish. For starters, the Lucien Albrecht Rosé goes great with the Lobster quesadilla stuffed with crab, shrimp and cheese and topped with fruit salsa and a chipotle drizzle.
Organic, spa-inspired dishes make up the Behave side of the menu. Jerk Crusted Gulf Snapper with pineapple salsa, forbidden black rice, plantains and coconut rum molasses will have you feeling alright. Or opt for the Coconut Curry Chicken Salad with couscous, greens, roasted carrots, cashews and grapes served with pita bread. George's makes eating well an easy choice.
The Misbehave side of the menu, dubbed The Good Stuff, offers a fresh take on traditional beach fare. Our love for burgers is no secret so we had to put George’s BB30A (Best Burger on 30A) claim to the test. The classic burger stacked high with cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomato lives up to its name. At the beach, there are grouper sandwiches, then there’s Georges Famous Grouper Sandwich. Order it fried and thank us later.
Decadent desserts like the Warm Chocolate Toffee Goo leave you feeling happy and already planning your next visit. Take-out options and private and semiprivate dining round out the experience.
The food and wine may be fine, but George’s charming beach cottage provides the perfect backdrop for a casual dinner with friends and family. George's has a new rooftop viewing deck and lounge underneath for guests to sit and enjoy a glass of wine or a beer while they wait for a table. Cornhole for the kids and lots of seating make waiting super comfy! Dine indoors in the airy, yet cozy dining room, or soak in the beautiful Florida sunshine on the front deck and air-conditioned screened porches. Whether you choose to Behave or Misbehave, each will be presented with a generous helping of love.
