Sit on the dock of The Bay and waste some time. Situated on the shore of the Choctawhatchee Bay at the foot of the 331 bridge, The Bay embodies life on the water in SoWal. Created by renowned Chef Jim Shirley of Great Southern Cafe, 45 Central, and Meltdown on 30A, the restaurant opened in April 2014 to rave reviews and has since become a local mainstay. Folks can arrive by car, paddleboard or boat to satisfy their cravings, play cornhole, or relax by the fire with a cold beer.
The menu at The Bay is inspired by Southern Gulf Coast cuisine, with a little Asian flare. It’s a place where you can get everything from a Seafood platter and Chef’s signature Faux Ya Ya Grits, to Shrimp Lettuce Wraps and Sushi…all from the same menu.
For a hearty American-style meal you will love The Bay's marinated Grilled Chicken Sandwich. It's practically dripping with Fontina cheese, and their Bomber Burger was featured on Emeril's Florida.
A 55 ft. long indoor bar provides a place to sit and enjoy some of the best sushi in town, and The Bay’s 12-draft beer system guarantees you won’t find a colder beer anywhere else. The wine list is chosen by the Chef himself, and The Bay has received a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for his efforts. Creative cocktails round out the bar scene at The Bay and take mixology to a whole new level.
Happy Hour goes down every day from 4-6 p.m. with half off cocktails and wine by the glass and $1 off beer. Every Wednesday night at 7 is bonfire night at The Bay with live music. On Sundays from 3-7 p.m. local musician Mike Whitty and friends take the stage. Musicians are welcome to join.
