Restaurant
South of Philly
South of Philly is a bit off the beaten path but very close to the beach at Ed Walline Park and Gulf Place. The restaurant has been embraced by locals who know where to go for great food in a relaxed place at a good price. The cheesesteak is the real deal made from cuts of ribeye and served with some of the best seasoned fries you'll find anywhere.
South of Philly caters to locals with a daily $10 lunch special that includes a sandwich, fries and drink. By far, the most ordered menu item is the Cheesesteak, followed by the hand-pattied cheeseburger and the gyro.
Other delicious menu items include Quesadillas, Italian Hoagies, Hot pastrami Sandwiches, and Caribbean Shrimp Tacos. Buffalo Chicken, Smoked Turkey, and Chicken Caesar wraps appeal to the lighter side of things, along with assorted salads and smoothies. Thirst quenchers include sodas, teas, water, and domestic beers. A variety of locally-brewed beers are also available.
South of Philly located just north of Gulf Place along Hwy 393 South. The SoWal gem is open Monday-Saturday for lunch. For more information, please call (850) 622-1055. See the full menu at southofphilly30a.com. Follow South of Philly on Facebook for updates and specials.
