Red Fish Taco
Red Fish Taco sizzles in Blue Mountain Beach with a gourmet take on the traditional taco joint. True, there are tacos and tequila, but the real draw is the culinary team. The chefs at Stinky’s Fish Camp have taken the taqueria concept and made it their own with nods to Cajun cooking throughout the menu.
The menu is creative, yet approachable with huge portions, happy hour specials, and live music just about every night, making it a fun place to hang out with friends and family without breaking the bank. Best of all, it’s steps from the beach and perfect for a quick taco and margarita run. Sandy toes are welcome and outdoor seating means you won’t miss a second of sunshine, unless you sit under one of their giant umbrellas.
Lunch features all the things you love about a taco run. Crispy street tacos come in threes, and salsa and cheese dip are there for the taking. But if you really want to elevate your lunch, opt for the Sizzling Shrimp and Crawfish Queso. The Cuban is a handheld worth writing home about. It comes with melty provolone on good French bread. You can even order Grilled Avocado halves for a plant-based option.
Red Fish Taco really shines at dinner time. The expanded menu features starters, tacos, rice bowls, bar food, fajitas and house specialties. Peanut Seared Shrimp Lettuce wraps come served with garlic, lemongrass and ginger. Enjoy classic corn tortilla tacos the best way, with grilled marinated chicken thighs, salsa verde, shaved radish, cilantro and lime. Fajitas come with options, but its hard to see anything else when smoked brisket is involved. Unless you’re vegetarian, and if that’s the case you’ll love the grilled avocado and vegetable fried rice.
House specialties offer a taste of the Gulf with grilled fish, Mexican corn on the cob and chayote squash. If turf is more your speed, the 16 oz New York Strip is sure to please.
Happy hour at Red Fish Taco happens Monday - Friday and there’s a special for each day of the week. Live music is a big part of what they do at Red Fish Taco. Local legends and friends from Louisiana stop by often to play a few tunes. Check out the SoWal Live Music Calendar and Red Fish Taco’s Facebook Page for current lineups.
Red Fish Taco also has a Takeout Bar with a separate entrance adjacent to the patio. Call ahead or place your order at the counter and sip on a frozen margarita or some Stink Juice while you wait. It’s basically a tequila slushie. They also have goodies like t-shirts, hats, even sunscreen and Stinky’s Seasoning there for you to take home.
Red Fish Taco is located in Red Fish Village on the corner of Scenic 30A and Hwy 83 in Blue Mountain Beach. They’re open daily for lunch, happy hour and dinner.
