This morning off of Seacrest Beach, High Pointe. 1 was small and the other was friggin huge  . I tried to swim out to it. My peeps on shore said the turtle would always keep me about 15 feet ways. Guess turtles don't like Otters :idontno: . I didn't want to touch him. Just trying to get a look see.

That is so cool. About 6 years agos we had one swimming down the shoreline...wonderful to watch. You are right....we could not get near it as it would swim further out, so we just walked near it.

I'm so glad you saw those sea turtles, RO.
I've only ever seen deceased ones here--one just last week, a recent death, with blood on the carapace.

Glad their there to be seen. Saw one a few years ago surf fishin. He or she was nearly as big a as VW Beetle.Spooked me good cause I never spotted it coming towards me but was 10 feet away when it surfaced. At least 600lbs. Head was bigger than a bowling ball.

I didn't want to touch him. Just trying to get a look see. :cool:Good plan; methinks the big ones could put a considerable dent in an extended appendage...

What a wonderful picture this is!!! Did you take it? Year before last while at Seagrove Beach I was sitting at the edge of the water and my son was out in the water in front of me. I saw something swimming down the beach toward him. I got up and ran into the water because well..you know..I thought about the sharks. As I was approaching my son...the something was there about to touch my leg. I looked down and it was a HUGE beautiful turtle. We were all so excited to be that close to one. It made my week at the beach!!!
