I am thinking the problem was that we have not recovered in a world full of anti-American sentimism. The Bush effect still lingers on.:angry:

what the left hasnt figured out yet is that when you smear your president you smear your nation. the left has done more damage to this nations standing in the world than bush ever could have.

at least bush didnt paint us as being a weak country like obama constantly does with his weak apologies for what he claims are injustices. at least bush knew the greatness of this nation and was proud to share it with the world instead of apologizing for it. our greatest leaders did the same thing. obama is up there with carter so far when it comes to diplomacy.

so they are racists because they havent had one in africa? yea, that makes a ton of sense-DUH! the infrustructure alone couldnt handle the olympics.

What does the Chicago political machine have to do with it?

I REALLY wanted the Olympics in Chicago and I have never cast a ballot, campaigned, registered as a voter, or run for office in the state of Illinois.

S. America or Africa are long overdue as hosts, just hard to find a suitable site IMO.

As an American I was hoping we once again would host of the olympics.

It was all to obvious the Chicago political machine was in pull play here. Im amazed that the president made it so obvious. He once again found out that words mean nothing in the real world, but actions mean everything. He couldnt negotiate his was out of a paper bag.

I saw a great piece lastnight about Rio that made think that Chicago was a given. Apparently, theres a huge shortage of hotels and the crime is rampant. Its said that if they are awarded the olympics, they will have to build walls around certain hoods to protect the athletes, etc.

i urge you to look into chicagos political record. the special interests involved in this were enormous. and instead of waiting they used their hardball efforts and got in the face of the world thinking it would work with obama at the helm.

i wanted it to, but it was all for the wrong reasons im afraid.

im amazed rio got it. must be because its never happened in south america. they got their shot now and im happy for them.
