I think they should have made it a redneck riviera themed haiku contest.

Oh Brad..... :whitetrash:

Spirit magazine, the in-flight magazine for Southwest Airlines launched a nationwide poetry contest Tuesday and the grand prize features roundtrip airfare and a 7-night stay to panama City Beach.

Not only that, but the winner will also receive $30,000 dollars worth of shopping sprees, gift certificates, spa and entertainment packs, custom made jewelry, and five star dinners.

The contest is called 'Love is in the Air' and to enter you must submit your love story in the form of a haiku--that's a 3-line poem consisting of 17-syllables.

"We've developed a really good relationship with both Spirit magazine and Southwest Airlines over the last year with the opening of the new airport and this being one of the newer destinations and they're trying to drive traffic for their air flight too" says Michelle Lacewell, Marketing Director of Resort Collections.

The contest is open until March 7th to anyone age 25 or older.

You can register at luvgiveaway.com.

Not a true haiku, but hard to beat one of last year's songwriters:

Sittin' on the shores of the Redneck riviera,
eating cold pasta* primavera,
dreamin' 'bout my baby..........

*pronounced Pass-tuh

I've been known to ask dumb questions? Is rhyme necessary?
