We are thankfully 2 days away from our first big local election in Walton County since my family moved here in October 2006. Do so many candidates always run for a few offices? It seems that there was a lot of ugly campaign tactics used- is that normal for here? I am getting to the point where I really don't care who is sheriff anymore - I just want all the candidates and their supporters to hush! And when my first thought of the morning is the BCC race- it is a sign that it is time for this election to be over! Can I expect life to return to normal after Tuesday, or does the campaign negativity keep up at a fever pitch for awhile? Maybe some of you that have lived here longer can give me the good news that we can get "back to business" soon.
