A perfect afternoon

I agree! This is a perfect summer Chicago weekend! We went with a group of close friends to downtown Chicago yesterday...Millinium Park...a must see!...Taste of Chicago...Chicago's lakefront. Absolutely gorgeous!

You are so right. It is a perfect day in Chicago. Summers are always awesome and beautiful! I don't even mind washing clothes today.

We're headed to Evanston to see the "Stranger's with Candy" movie later this afternoon.

So I'm not the only one enjoying this fine Chicago afternoon! I love the summers here, especially when the humidity is low like today. It's just the winters I can't stand anymore....ugh. Josebby - haven't been downtown yet this year but I'll have to squeeze a trip in soon. We visited last summer when Cloud Gate was still "under wraps" and I'd like to see it again now that it's done. And JR, loved meeting you, too! I finished my lobster salad last night at about 1AM (while I posted under the influence - LOL!) Enjoy the rest of the weekend ladies (and we'll have to work on planning a full-fledged Ilini-gent! )

I have been watching sports all day! Tennis, and now soccer!!!

Had a wonderful lunch at Pappadeaux - yummy lobster salads! Talked for a couple of hours and I showed JR my Sowal pics. And sure enough, much like my trip to Sowal, we were having so much FUNN, we flat out forgot to take any pics together. So I asked my daughter to recreate the event and draw a picture of our meeting:

And sure enough, much like my trip to Sowal, we were having so much FUNN, we flat out forgot to take any pics together. Count me in - Lake Zurich isn't too far from Mount Prospect. There is always Cheeseburger in Paradise in Des Plaines.

We spent the day on our deck - drinking rum drinks with friends and cooking steaks on the grill - it was a near perfect day for Chicago - something to remember come November!!!!!!

Count me in - Lake Zurich isn't too far from Mount Prospect. There is always Cheeseburger in Paradise in Des Plaines.

That was one of the other restaurants on our short list (that and Bonefish, which, sadly, wasn't open for lunch.) Great, cheap drinks and nice outdoor patio. We definitely need to gather there sometime soon while the weather is still nice. Guess we need to figure out if there are any other Sowallers are in the area besides us, Johnrudy, Josebby - I'm thinking Shuttersbythesea as well? If anyone else is interested in a lunch gathering, PM me and let me know. Cheeseburger in Paradise is about a block from the Des Plaines Metra station, so it could also be a good venue if some out-of-towners wanted to join us, too.
