FOXNews.com - House Votes to Pass Senate Health Care Bill

Our children will note that 7 votes doomed them to even more financial servitude to the national government.

Stupid er Stupak can find solace in saving a few lives from abortion so they can be slaves to the growing godzilla of debt that this bill feeds.

I pray I am wrong but fear I am right on.:(

When your generation is paying for this I hope you remember that many of my generation tried to stop this. Just like my Grandparent's generation scr**** us with Social Security and my parents scr**** us with Medicare, so we get you with this.

Not everyone believes we've been scr**** with Social Security or Medicare. There were a lot of folks who were oppsed to the Health Care bill that advised keep your hand off the Medicare and Social Security, if memory serve me. Idlewind, I appreciate your opinion but we will have to agree to disagree. Have a good day.

Can we replace fear with a bit of good old fashioned confidence...

So has said every generation about their children when it came to the government since the 1800's. Would you like a roadmap to Canada

I'm archiving this thread. Four years to the day from now I'll repost it so we can debate.

Has the debt been lowered by Healthcare?
Are millions more people surviving because they are finally getting healthcare? Is healthcare better now than it was before?
How is the gov't takeover of student loans working out?
Was there a voter backlash?

It's like a time capsule. Good stuff. Add your posts. End of day I will copy.

Not 24 hours, the ink hasn't even dried, and already the haters are complaining that nothings happening. Despite what your heros Beck and Limbaugh have said you weren't going to get a card in the mail today since it passed last night.

If everyone was as involved in politics as they are in these blogs our country would be a much better place!

Seriously!

And if they spend a fraction of the time on actually RESEARCHING AND LEARNING about the issues that they do on repeating sound bites our country would be far better off!

Cold economic facts:

1. Social Security is going broke, this year it paid out more than it took in for the first time since the 80's. The situation is even worse when you factor in that the "trust fund's" only assets are US treasury bonds. So as the trend of payouts exceeding income continues the deficit will rise.
2. Medicare is in even worse fiscal shape than Social Security.

3. I have paid taxes for both SS and Medicare for years so if it is still available 20 years from now when I am elligible, i will get everything I can back.

4. This bill is about as fiscally sound as SS and Medicare. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results.

This has nothing to do with partisan politics and everything to do with economics and fiscal responsibility.

So then lets solve the problem where it started, Congress borrowing money from the trust fund. Perhaps if we put that money back?

Oh no you broke the secret liberal agenda code. That's it guys, pack it in, and walk away he figured out the big plan to redistribute wealth with 2 cent aspirins. :sarc:

If anyone knows where a spare 10-15 trillion is laying around this is the best solution.

You can't trust politicians, Florida has a fully funded retirement system with a real surplus and the folks in tally are trying to raid it for money to fund their pet projects. Guess more of them need to build art centers to get them a job.

1. How about getting our military out of the middle-east because we will never be able to turn that area into our type of democracy.
2. Demand compensation through the oil reserves from Iran since we did "free" them from tirany instead of forgiving them of their debts.
3. Stop the insane amount of money that is pumped into elections EVERY year.

They also said they weren't factoring in the Doctor fix which will blow it out of the water. Dems on the hill have already acknowledged this. Keep believing the lies...

You know what the doctor fix is right?

You know what the doctor fix is right?

"Media figures have claimed that the health care reform bill does not actually reduce the deficit because Congress is "leaving out $208 billion for the Medicare doc fix." However, there is no reason the "doc fix" should be included in the cost of health care reform since the issue predates the health care reform debate and will need to be resolved regardless of health care reform's outcome."

"Klein further stated that the problem necessitating the fix 'predates health-care reform and exists irrespective of health-care reform's fate. Attempts to lash the two together are nonsensical.'"

Media falsely claim "doc fix" means health care bill does not reduce the deficit | Media Matters for America
