I had a couple of guys come to my door tonight wanting to sell me an ADT system. They actually offered to do the hardware and installation for free so they could use my house for advertising.
Maybe they were legit. And maybe they weren't. They started asking questions about what security system we were currently using and were there many incidents in the neighborhood (south, unincorporated Freeport).
I didn't tell them anything, of course, and they left shortly thereafter. I got their license plate number and notified the Sheriff's Office, but I'm curious whether anyone else has had anything like this happen recently.
Thanks for any information you might have.

Sounds fishy. If anyone needs security system - alarm and/or cameras for business or work call Ken Richards at Planet Secure. 636-578-2300

We had the same thing happen to us eight years ago when we lived just off 331 south of Freeport. It wasn't ADT though.
It didn't turn out too badly, except we knew we were about to sell the house and we were assured the contract was transferable, and it turned out not to be. That was a pain in the arse.
Did work well, though, when the new owner set supper on fire, they called us...

It certainly sounds fishy to me. Furthermore, what a back-arshward marketing initiative for a security company to undertake... like the PERFECT oxymoron???
