I went to lunch today with a very nice couple who lives in Santa Rosa Beach. His name is bchtrvlr and saw my trip report. He & his wife are taking the exact same trip on the exact same ship in late August! He invited me to join them for lunch today so I could tell them a little more about the trip! They are good people and it is always nice making new friends! :clap_1:

I drove around 30A stopped in a couple of places, met Tootsie in Seaside. I drove to Gulf Place and bought a crab from Dwight. It was good to see the "birthday boy" again!
Tonight I am going to Seaside to Cherished for an are exhibit by Didon Comer. The new owner of Cherished, Kellen is a very nice young man. ( I think the shop used to be called Simple??)

I have met Kellen several times and he is such a sweetie! Did you meet his pupchild, Tinsy??

Soon will be off to Alys Beach to meet up with IBD! Then we plan on checking out Waco at 393.
Today was quiet...Toots & I parused Smiths and a few other antique shops. Had late lunch at Royal Orchid! Mostly cloudy day, so no beach time for me!

YAY...Cork is back!

Last night was funn. We met up with Marthamydear, Chickpea, Uncle Timmy, Mermy and Merman. (who was showing off his pinks...:D )
IBD and I had rolly pollys at Seaside (after checking out the bathroom at Rendezvous....yes it does glow a little) The stained glass mosaic in there is even more spectacular! We met the artist at Fonville Press. They need better lighting on it though!
IBD & I went to 393...it is a great place for locals...and semi-locals ;-) Not a tourist in sight! As soon as we got there, ordered drinks...we were told they were on the house courtsey of JOE :)idontno: not sure that was his name) He bought drinks for the house...we got there at the right time:rotfl: I met more great SoWallers KB, Redrocket and even a few lurkers! ;-)
Ramblers were good and I look forward to seeing them again Tues. night.
The bar is a true bar (does not serve food) so smoking is allowed.....it was tough as the night went on. I spoke to one of the managers and he said they have a vent system and AC...but I guess it is not as effective when there are that many people.
I would love to go here more often...cauz I love it being a "locals" spot. Red Bar is amazing...but soooo crowded and congested with tourists.
KB...loved meeting you & Mr KB!
I got back home just in time to enjoy amazing natural pyrotechnics! (sp? you know me:dunno: ) The sky was a maze of lightening! I love a good storm and this is the best I have experienced in years!
