I have heard that Amendment 2 will hurt senior citizens and take away benefits. Is this true?
No. This is a fraudulent scare tactic of our opponents and they make the argument with no proof or explanation. A YES vote on Amendment 2 will do one thing and one thing only – protect the definition of marriage between one man and one woman but it does not prevent the government or private companies from extending benefits to whomever they wish. Our opponents know if they debate the merits of same sex marriage they will lose and so they are resorting to the desperate tactic of trying to scare Florida’s most vulnerable and precious citizens, our seniors.

If you want to have a more informed viewpoint on how and whether Amendment 4 will benefit St. Joe, you should read "Green Empire". It will give you some idea of how St. Joe might choose to take advantage of selectively denoting land for conservation and what condition that land could possibly be in (i.e. freshly logged out) when it is submitted.

I'd like to know if the submission of land for conservation status is permanent, or if you can just "park" land in that state and then later develop it.

Not that I'm arguing against #4. I'll still choose to vote Yes on #4 for the broader good.

My God seems to be a little more even handed than yours, for he would not smite those who choose to live any way they want. Nor do I need to resort invoking the name of mine to bolster my uninformed opinion.

Your misguided interpretation of No. 2 and mine are quite different, as are the relevance of each of our questions to each other and the editorial that follows.

so your asking me about God and including editorial about No.2 were unrelated within the same post? Were you trying to sway my answer by including info on how the outcome will affect seniors? As I posted above my question is as meaningless as yours.
