Not a big fan of country music but I can see why Carrie Underwood beat Faith Hill last month. She can sing! Even better than Beyonce who was the opening act. And Carrie has gotten "all buff" and stuff - - she looked terrific!

I think you're safe RO. She's in her early 20's. I just saw Taylor Hicks. Let's just say, he's lookin' real good.

oh, as for taylor hicks - love him, he looked GREAT last night -...his band from birmingham is playing in the village in sandestin on new years i hear! they're a great blues band :clap_1:
i loved gwen stefani last night. that was nuts. in the pop realm, she makes madonna look utterly irrelevant!
for me the funniest "who programmed this?" moment of the night was josh groban IMMEDIATELY following the talentless pussycat dolls. you know someone got a chuckle about that :funn:
did anyboy notice when they panned to the audience (fyi, just because you hear applause on televised award shows doesn't mean it's actually happening by the way ;-) ) following the dixie chicks performance that the vip rows of audience were not clapping and sitting there deadpan?

Yea I noticed that. I half way expected them to get a standing ovation because of all their "hard times". I like them a lot but wasn't crazy about their song selection last night.

What about those strippers? I couldn't believe that was on prime time television.

I missed that....did it by chance have anything to do with the pussycat dolls?

I think it was Snoop Dog - women with very strong thighs and green bills all over the place. I was just catching glimpses of it on the tv that was on at the old florida fish house. There was a little girl sitting next to me that was asking her mother how those girls were doing that.

yeah, with role models like that, we should not be surprised at how the next generation turns out. i'm at least grateful that mattel cancelled the pussycat "dolls" toys! what were they thinking?? :nono1:
(insider gossip ahead ;-) ) actually the only reason they have a deal is the lead singer is having an affair with the label ceo. big shocker! more biz gets done at strip clubs than in music clubs in the biz and it's starting to show.
beats on hood
What about those strippers? I couldn't believe that was on prime time television. In many cases I like the radio-version of hip-hop music (I like the beat), but the visual images that go with it have no place on prime-time TV. At least they sang the radio-edit version while the ho's were pole dancing. In the primary lyric "I want to love you", the "love" is replaced by the f-word in the non-radio-edit version. That's just over the edge IMO.
I changed the channel to CNN.

So, am I the only one who noticed Sharon Stone's nipples?
She's TOO OLD to keep doing this!!! I was embarrassed for her.
