I have to vent! Does anyone out there have a co-worker that totally annoys them??? I have one that sits directly across from me that totally irritates me to no end! Comes in here when first hired making all of these demands, constantly tries to tell the office manager how to do her job, totally gets bent out of shape if we sit and chat to each other across the office. Says she cannot concentrate if we are talking and cannot hear on the phone. I want to say get a hearing aid! She is 50 years old and is a real b*tch! I pack and ship orders daily and use a packaging tape dispenser on a daily basis. Out of her mouth today while I was packing was a blatant question asking why my tape dispenser was so much more obnoxious than the one the office manager uses. We have the exact same type of dispenser! I told her it was probably because she was standing right beside where I was using it at my packing table. I constantly get dirty looks from this co-worker if I speak out across the room to the office manager, whether work related or not! I cannot tell you how many times I have wanted to tell her where to go! This co-worker sits back playing on the computer while everyone else does their share of helping with the many special projects, one of which is going on now, that she hasn't bothered helping with, but she gloats on taking credit for helping with projects she doesn't touch at all! How would you guys handle a co-worker like that??? The big boss is constantly onto her about not doing certain jobs she is supposed to be doing, but is in another state so she doesn't see what goes on. Am I alone out there or is this more common than I think??? She gets rewarded with raises right along with the ones that actually do way more than their share when she doesn't!:pissed:

Wow. That is quite a tale of woe. Your co-worker sounds just like someone who used to post here but doesn't anymore. I think you should ban that annoying person from your office!
Sure wish I could! She quit her previous job right before she felt she was going to being fired for being too slow. She rarely completes a task. Takes her all day to do her one main daily job! I could do triple what she does in one day as to her work, plus my job also! Funny how people like that get away with everything! Sorry to have practically written a small book but that is how bad she annoys me! I cannot say anything out to her as she has a friend in here who defends her to the end!

Hummingbird, as much as you'd probably like to put your hands around her neck, unfortunately the law doesn't favor those of us who suffer from job rage. At some point, you just have to accept that there are annoying and irritating personalities out there that just aren't going to get along with you. It's not your fault and you certainly won't be able to change her. Try the serenity prayer. I can't remember exactly how it goes...God, give me the ability to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference. Maybe that'll help.

Well, the ones that irritate me the most, I like to play pranks on them. Here's a real good one, especially if they are not computer savey.
When this person goes to lunch, unplug her keyboard from the computer. This drives them crazy. Then you can just sit back and laugh as you listen to them punching away on key after key and nothing happens. :clap_1:
Or, turn down the brightness button on their screen until it goes black. Spend the next 15 minutes chuckling to yourself after they restart for the 4th time.
I know, it childish to be sure, but until the law DOES favor work rage, it's a great way to pass the time.
Hope this helps

Well, she is computer savvy but one thing she totally has a fear of is bugs. She freaks at any roach or spider crawling around in here. And that is childish also.

Love the computer pranks! Thanks for the correct Serenity Prayer, I should use it more often! Should be able to find all kinds of creepy crawly things since it's halloween...that would be too funny!:clap_1:

I beg pardon, Miss Kitty. Did you call me a bottom feeder before Kimmifunn? I'll redo my siggie if it makes you happy.

Surely not. Who was it that said the only thing worse than being talked about is NOT being talked about? :rolling:

Well first of all I would let her know that until she arrived things ran just smoothly. 2nd of all things, I would let her know that if her conduct didn't improve I would break her knees and make sure that she could never ice skate again.
